Assumption University's President, Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, attended the Sustainability Expo at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on October 3, 2023. His visit not only signifies the institution's dedication to sustainability but also sets a precedent for academic leadership in tackling global issues such as sustainable development. Bro. Bancha has authored numerous articles on topics such as "Global Warming" and the "World Food Crisis," which can be found at Bro. Bancha’s Collection.

On October 3, the AU Green Team took part in The 2030 SDGs Game at the same venue. Guided by Mrs. Benjaporn Anunwanitcha and Mrs. Wilai Pruesapancha, the team included Ms. Pranee Rumchuanchon and Ms. Wantinee Kaewkheaw. Dr. Scott Smith contributed as a certified facilitator, ensuring the event ran without a hitch.

The 2030 SDGs Game is a collaborative experience aimed at envisioning a sustainable world by 2030, inspired by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The AU Green Team was notably engaged, arriving early to deeply immerse themselves in the game’s objectives. Dr. Scott Smith commented, "This simulation offers significant educational value and will undoubtedly resonate within the Assumption University community."

This active participation exemplifies AU’s dedication to societal improvement and sustainability. With engaged leadership and an enthusiastic Green Team, Assumption University continues to be a beacon in both academic and global efforts to build a more sustainable future.

Among the roster of impactful events at SX2023, the AU Green Team found themselves in the eye of an exhilarating experience: The 2030 SDGs Game. For this game, they were led by AU’s own, Dr. Scott Smith, a certified facilitator for the game. Together, they dove into a simulation focused on steering the "real world" towards the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals by the year 2030.

Mrs. Wilai Pruesapancha said, "Participating in the 2030 SDGs Game was not just an eye-opener, it was a soul-opener. By experiencing the game participants can see themselves as part of the solution, and that's monumental."
