The Assumption University family came together to share in the bereavement of a very important member of the university, Dr. Soonthorn Pibulcharoensit, AU Top Management Committee and The University Registrar. Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, the AU President led the delegation to pay respects to the father of Dr. Soonthorn Pibulcharoensit at Sala 3 of Hualamphong Temple.

In attendance where representatives of the University including the academic units led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Uree Cheasakul, Dean of Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics, and operational units led by Mr. Ronachai Homchan, Office of Human Resources Director, as well as the Assumption University Alumni Association (AUAA) representatives, and members of ABAC Class 22, which was Dr. Soonthorn’s graduating class.

The prayers started with Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha lighting the candles paying respect to the deceased and welcoming the monks. At the end Dr. Vindhai Cocracul, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the President of the AUAA, and representative of ABAC Class 22 offered robes to the monks as part of the merit making ceremony. 


 

 

As the prayer ceremony ended everyone came together to express their condolences to the bereaved family in particular Dr. Soonthorn, who expressed sincere appreciation for the strong support. This event is testament to the strong relationship within the University community, where people come together in joy and in sadness.
