On the afternoon of November 17 Bangkok time, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Bangkok, Thailand on special plane to attend the 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and visit Thailand.

Assoc. Prof. Yang Hairong, Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at Assumption University (CIAU), and A. Xiong Minxuan, Chinese teacher of CIAU, on behalf of Assumption University of Thailand (AU), warmly welcomed President Xi Jinping on a street in Bangkok, which is in front of Assumption College and also is on the way to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, where President Xi Jinping stayed.

When the concierge motorcade slowly passed the welcoming people, President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan waved to the welcoming people in the car. Assoc. Prof. Yang Hairong and A. Xiong Minxuan carried Chinese and Thai flags and wore the Assumption University badge to greet President Xi Jinping. This scene was broadcast on China Central Television's news.

On the afternoon of November 19, before President Xi Jinping left Thailand, Assoc. Prof. Yang Hairong and A. Xiong Minxuan waited along the way to the Prime Minister's Office of Thailand to send President Xi Jinping off. President Xi Jinping's car approached the people and waved goodbye to everyone.

Representatives of various Confucius Institutes in Bangkok, overseas Chinese and local people welcomed and send off President Xi Jinping together.
