Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University of Thailand (AU) was invited by the Ambassador H.E. Dr. Han Zhiqiang, Embassy of The People's Republic of China to The Kingdom of Thailand to attend a reception of the 73rd Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China on September 26, 2022, at Grand Ballroom, Shangri-La Hotel.

Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran met and exchanged greetings with the Ambassador H.E. Dr. Han Zhiqiang and his wife Prof. Wang Huan. Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran expressed his congratulation on the 73rd birthday of the People's Republic of China on behalf of Assumption University of Thailand.



At this reception, Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran also met and greeted with Ms.Sudarat Keyuraphan, former Minister of Public Health, Flg. Off. Watchareeporn Sroithong, an AU alumna (Bachelor of Arts in Business English) and other AU’s friends.

The President was accompanied by Mr. Glen Chatelier, Director of International Affairs, and Mr. Thanat Saenghiran. They visited the "Photo Exhibition of Celebrating the 73rd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China”, prepared by the embassy. They also enjoyed a wonderful cultural performance, jointly presented by Chinese and Thai artists.

The solemn reception was to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, attended by more than 300 guests, including President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives Chuan Leekpai, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Suchart Tonjaroen, Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Supachai Phosu, First Vice-President of the Senate Singsuk Singpai, Privy Councillor Palakorn Suwanrath, Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow, Minister of Transport Saksayam Chidch, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Deputy Minister of Finance Santi Promphat, Deputy Chief of Defense Forces Suttipun Taithong, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Supachok Tawatpeerachai, Commander-in-Chief of Royal Thai Army Narongpan Jittkaewtae, Commander-in-Chief of Royal Thai Air Force Napadej Dhupatemiya, former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajivalt, and other friends from the Thai political, military, business, overseas Chinese and media circles, UNESCAP Executive Secretary Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, foreign diplomatic envoys in Thailand, and representatives of Chinese institutions and overseas students.
