Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly announced the celebration of Saint Gabriel's Collegel's 104th Founding Day, which took place on February 21, 2024, at the De Montfort Auditorium. The Gabrielite community was joined by alumni, students, faculty, and honored guests in this momentous occasion. Together, they celebrated the past, present, and future of their beloved institution.
The event also paid tribute to the significant milestones of Rev. Brother Dr. Rev. Cyril Siriroj Viriyasirimongkol, who celebrated his 90th year, and Rev. Brother Purin Penratchabundit, who marked his 60th year. Their contributions to the Gabrielite community are immeasurable and serve as an inspiration to all.
Leading the delegation from Assumption University were AU President Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran and Rev. Bro. Dr. Amnuay Yoonprayong, Vice Rector for Moral Development Education. The theme of the birthday celebration, "If We Hold On Together" based on the famous song by Diana Ross, resonated deeply with the attendees. Brother Syryl further inspired the gathering by reminding us of the song's next verse, "I know our dreams will never die. Dreams see us through to forever," emphasizing the shared vision and enduring legacy of Saint Gabriel's College.
Saint Gabriel's College, a prestigious private Catholic all-boys school founded by the Brothers of Saint Gabriel in 1920, has a rich history of providing exemplary education rooted in faith and excellence. The celebration commenced with a Mass of Thanksgiving to God, honoring the school's enduring tradition of spiritual and academic excellence.
In recognition of the unwavering dedication and hard work of its educators, the school held an award ceremony to honor long-serving teachers for the academic year 2023.
Brother Bancha, President of Assumption University and Director of the school from 1985-1991, expressed his admiration for the school's enduring legacy: "Saint Gabriel's College has been a beacon of knowledge and virtue for over a century. We were proud to celebrate this remarkable milestone and the individuals who have contributed to its success. Their commitment to excellence continues to inspire our community and shape the leaders of tomorrow."
