Assumption University of Thailand (AU) has officially signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Assumption College (AC), strengthening their collaboration in education, research, and student well-being. These agreements mark a significant step toward fostering academic excellence and promoting mental health awareness within the educational community.

Strengthening Academic Cooperation
The first MoU, signed by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of Assumption University of Thailand, and Rev. Bro. Arwut Silaket, f.s.g., Ph.D., Director of Assumption College, establishes a broad academic partnership. This agreement aims to:

  • Facilitate knowledge exchange between students and faculty.
  • Support AC students with admission quotas and scholarship opportunities at AU.
  • Organize educational programs, seminars, and workshops to enhance student readiness for higher education.
  • Promote joint research projects and faculty collaboration in curriculum development.

This five-year agreement ensures continuous academic development and strengthens pathways for AC students to transition seamlessly into AU.

Enhancing Mental Health Support
A second MoU was signed between the Graduate School of Human Sciences (GSHS), Assumption University of Thailand, and Assumption College to enhance mental health awareness and support among students. Dr. Kitikorn Dowpiset, Dean of GSHS, and Rev. Bro. Arwut Silaket, f.s.g., Ph.D., Director of AC, formalized this partnership, which includes:

      • Psychoeducation sessions addressing anxiety, depression, and stress management.
      • Workshops to build student resilience and coping strategies.
      • Training programs for teachers and parents to recognize early signs of mental health concerns.
      • Establishment of a counseling center at AC, staffed by graduate-level psychology interns from AU.
      • Joint research initiatives in counseling psychology and education.

This MoU, also valid for five years, highlights both institutions' dedication to student well-being and psychological support.

A Promising Future of Collaboration
The signing event at AU brought together distinguished faculty members, administrators, and educational leaders to discuss the future of this partnership. The agreements reflect a shared vision of academic excellence, student development, and institutional synergy.

With these MoUs in place, AU and AC reaffirm their commitment to providing high-quality education while supporting students' mental health and overall well-being.
