In 1987, the Private Higher Education Institution Library Group (PHEL) was officially established as one of the Subcommittees under the “Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand.” Accordingly, in 2003, its name was changed to “The Subcommittee on Private University Library Development” (ThaiPUL-Net).
Currently, ThaiPUL-Net consists of 61 libraries from private higher education institutions. The following strategic objectives highlight its collaborations and activities:
- Enhance collaboration by knowledge resource sharing and usage.
- Enhance the quality of library services.
- Enhance research and promote best practices in library and information sciences.
- Act as a “Knowledge-sharing Community” among librarians and information professionals.
On Friday, March 24, 2023, Subcommittees (ThaiPUL-Net), led by Dr. Apiradee Amnakmanee, Director of the Library Sripatum University, as a chairman of the 18th Subcommittees, held the annual members meeting (3/2023) at SG-106 at St. Gabriel’s Hall, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), Suvarnabhumi Campus and also online via Zoom.
At this meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Namthip Wiphawin, a lecturer from the School of Liberal Arts, Sukhothai Thammahirat Open University, Bangkok, was also invited to give an online guest lecture on the topic of “CoreTrustSeal.”
CoreTrustSeal (CTS) is a globally recognized certification for data repositories that ensures international standards for trustworthy data management. The World Data System (WDS) and the Data Seal of Approval (DSA) manage the certification program. It is designed to promote the long-term preservation of research data, open access, and sharing.
After the lecture, the Subcommittees (ThaiPUL-Net) conducted its meeting with the following agenda:

Agenda Item 2: Approval of the minutes of the Previous Meeting
Agenda Item 3: Follow-up Matters
Agenda Item 4: Matters for Consideration
Agenda Item 5: Other Matters
Assumption University of Thailand Library (AU Library), led by Mrs. Benjaporn Anunwanitcha, the Director of the Central Library, Mr. Somsin Sripraphatsorn, Head of the Department of Information Resources Management, and Mrs. Wilai Pruesapancha, Head of the Department of Information Services and Learning Support and their teams gave a warm welcome to all Subcommittees members with a Library tour.
This event ended with a group photograph celebrating the great friendships among the private higher education institution library group.
