On this auspicious occasion of National Teachers' Day, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) extends its heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to educators across Thailand, embodying the spirit of 'mae phim khong chart' (แม่พิมพ์ของชาติ) - the nation's molders of young minds. Thai Teacher’s Day is celebrated on January 16th because on this day in 1945, the Teachers Act was published by the Royal Thai Government Gazette.

AU President – Rector Magnificus, Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, f.s.g., Ph.D., reflected on the significance of this day, "Teachers aren't just educators, they're the architects of the future, the wizards of wisdom, igniting sparks of curiosity and creativity. On Teachers' Day, we celebrate this magical journey we take with our students - a symphony of learning and growing together."

In 1996, the orchid was declared the symbolic flower of Teachers' Day, inspired by the poetry of M.L. Pin Malakul, Thailand’s Minister of Culture from 1957–1958 and Minister of Education from 1957–1969.

This choice reflects the slow but beautiful blooming process of education and learning, a journey that Assumption University is proud to be a part of.

This year's motto, "Good teachers teach well, and good students learn well, together in happiness," resonates deeply with AU's commitment to fostering an environment of collaborative learning and joyous educational experiences.

AU invites the community to join in celebrating the profound impact of teachers. Their dedication not only enlightens minds but also enriches our culture and national identity.
