On October 21, Assumption University's Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS) joined the nation in celebrating Thai National Nurses' Day, a day of immense significance in Thailand's healthcare landscape.

Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dean of BLNS, led a heartfelt ceremony placing Phum Thong and Phum Ngern Trays in front of the statue of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra. Dr. Phat Prapawichar, Associate Dean, Dr. Nungruetai Kanchantra, and our dedicated nursing students were also in attendance to pay their respects.

This annual event, held every October 21, commemorates the birth anniversary of Princess Srinagarindra, affectionately known as "the Royal Grandmother." Born in 1900, she was a trailblazer in Thai healthcare, having studied Nursing Science at Siriraj School for Nursing and Midwifery and later continuing her education in the United States on a scholarship granted by Prince Mahidol.

Her contributions to Thai nursing and healthcare are monumental, and her legacy is celebrated through various activities organized by the Ministry of Public Health, Thailand Nursing and Midwifery Council, Nurses' Association of Thailand, and other professional organizations.

This year, the main event took place at the Ministry of Public Health, featuring academic seminars, training sessions, conferences, and exhibitions that showcased the evolution and importance of nursing in Thailand.
