Songkran Day is a three-day festival which is annually celebrated from 13th to 15th April. It’s the traditional New Year Festival of Thailand. This is also known as the Thai New Year or Thailand Water Festival. Songkran Festival was previously based on the Lunar calendar, but Thailand later fixed the dates to April 13-15.
Safe and COVID-19-Free Songkran Festival
During the proliferation of the COVID-19 pandemic, AU concerns on the health and safety of AU Community and to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 on campus, it is therefore imperative to suspend the AU Songkran Festival and other activities which are normally held on Campus.
Please strictly follow precautions particularly when you visit your elderly relatives and take part in family gatherings. When leaving home, do not forget to wear the surgical face mask, practice social distancing, avoid close contact with other people, and wash hands with hand sanitizer gel. We hope everyone will go back home safely and free from COVID-19 during the Songkran Festival.
