For Mr. Sirin Kitcharoen, a recent graduate from the Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science, and Technology (VMES) at Assumption University, the dream of becoming a pilot has guided his every step. With a perfect 4.00 GPA and a specialization in Aeronautics Engineering through the Commercial Pilot License (CPL) program, Mr. Sirin’s academic journey exemplifies dedication and excellence.
Last month, Sirin was honored with the prestigious Royal Engineering Award, presented on behalf of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X). The ceremony, held at The Siam Society under Royal Patronage on December 24, 2024, was a proud moment for Sirin, his family, and Assumption University. “It’s beyond expectation,” he reflected. “To receive this award is an honor not just for me, but for my family as well. It motivates me to keep working hard and aiming higher.”
Asst. Prof. Dr. Narong Aphiratsakun, Dean of VMES, praised Sirin’s accomplishments: “Khun Sirin Kitcharoen represents the very best of our university. His hard work and passion inspire us all. We are proud of his achievement and excited for his bright future.”
A Passion for Aviation
Sirin’s fascination with flight began as a child. “Ever since I was young, I watched pilots walking around airports and wondered what it was like inside the cockpit,” he said. That curiosity led him to pursue advanced flight training at Bangkok Air Aviation Training Center, preparing him for a career that combines skill, responsibility, and passion.
“The most exciting part of being a pilot is landing an aircraft,” Sirin shared. “It’s a big responsibility, knowing the lives of everyone onboard are in your hands. That moment when you safely touch down—it’s an incredible feeling.”
While Sirin is eager to fly any type of aircraft, he dreams of joining world-class airlines like Emirates, Etihad, or Qatar Airways. “Their service is excellent, and I’d love to be part of that inspiring atmosphere,” he said.

And when it comes to the classic travel question—window or aisle?—Sirin is unwavering: “Window, for sure,” he said with a smile.
A Vision for Thailand
Beyond personal ambition, Sirin sees aviation as a vital component of Thailand’s future. “Post-COVID, the aviation sector will rise as people reconnect through travel,” he explained. “With proper investment in infrastructure, Thailand could become a global hub for aviation, boosting tourism and economic growth.”
The AU Years
Reflecting on his time at Assumption University, Sirin said, “What I loved most was studying under my Dean, Ajarn and advisor, Dr. Narong, for three years. His guidance shaped me into who I am today.”
Sirin also cherishes the serenity of flying. “Sunset is the best time to fly,” he shared. “You get an incredible view, and it’s a moment to appreciate the beauty around you while staying focused on your duties.”

A Life in Five Words
Asked to describe the rest of his life in five words, Sirin replied confidently: “It’s going to be awesome.”
It’s hard to doubt him. Whether preparing for exams using a specialized app or imagining a future flight with his father, mother, and younger brother, Sirin radiates determination and optimism.
Soaring Toward the Future
Mr. Sirin Kitcharoen’s journey—from a young boy dreaming of flight to a graduate receiving royal honors—is a story of dedication, resilience, and the courage to aim high. His achievements have not only brought pride to Assumption University but have also inspired a generation of students to follow their dreams with passion and purpose.
As Sirin continues his ascent, the sky truly is the limit. On behalf of Assumption University and all who have followed his remarkable journey, we wish Mr. Sirin blue skies, safe landings, and boundless success in every endeavor.
May his story remind us all to dream big and soar boldly toward the future.
