Assumption University sent 49 athletes to participate in 9 types of sports: tennis, swimming, badminton, taekwondo, jujitsu, hapkido, Go, Crossword, and table tennis. The university ranked 21st out of 122 institutions with 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 16 bronze medals, total 20 medals from 5 types of sports; tennis, taekwondo, hapkido, swimming, and Go. In addition to awards presenting to athletes who won medals in the competition, there was also an award for the Best Athlete Category which went to Miss Ploylapus Chaiprasit (นางสาวพลอยลภัส ชัยประสิทธิ์) from Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics, and the Best Trainer Category which went to Mr. Nattakorn Rattanachotikornkul (นายณัฐกร รัตนโชติกรกุล), a trainer of hupkido. The award is a golden horse, which is regarded as a fortunate create of the university. It represents the honor and commemoration of the virtue that the students have created a reputation for the university.

The nature of the horse is agile, and strong. Students of the university should adhere to and behave "like horses" like the saying "a virtuous man", which means "a well-trained person." For the golden rock, AU is not only the abbreviation of the University, but it is also a symbol of gold in chemistry which implies that Assumption University will produce students who are valuable like gold. The sports center has begun awarding gold horses for outstanding athletes and excellent coaches from 2007 onwards to the present.
