EDUCATION:

2008 –2013 PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at The University of Nottingham, United Kingdom
Title Development of Digital Filtering Techniques in Three-Dimensional TLM Models
Supervisors Prof. Christos Christopoulos
Prof. Dave Thomas
Prof. Philip Sewell
Dr. Stephen Greedy
Examiner Dr. A Duffy
Prof. Trevor Benson
Abstract Presents a technique based on digital filters (DF) to represent embedded objects within a computational cell in time-domain solvers such as Transmission Line Modelling (TLM). The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Bilinear-Z-transform and Prony’s method are employed to estimate the DF parameters. The DF parameters for an embedded object are derived from a finely meshed simulation of the object. The digital filters are then used to modify the relevant cell(s) within a coarser mesh to represent the sub-cell features of the embedded object. In this way a significant computational saving is achieved.
2006 –2008 BEng Electronic and Communications Engineering at The University of Nottingham, United Kingdom
Graduated with a first class honours degree 77% Avg.
Title The Application of Modulated Signals to One-Dimensional TLM models
Supervisors Prof. Christos Christopoulos

Abstract This project studies the benefits of coding and modulation technology using numerical model based on the Transmission Line Modeling (TLM) method. Along the aims of this project is the development of a simplified channel numerical model which can illustrate the performance of different coding schemes in the presence of noise and multi-path signals.
