Assistant Professor Dr. Siriporn Poonruksa was invited by the Nurse Network on Tobacco Control of Thailand to be a keynote speaker in the 2nd International Webinar entitled “Moving towards a Smoke Free Brain & Mental Balance: Clinical and Community Level Interventions in the Next Normal”. The conference was held on July 16, 2022 from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. via Zoom Cloud Meeting.

Assistant Professor Dr. Siriporn Poonruksa shared her knowledge and experience on the topic of “Power of Nursing Students’ Unity for Creating Sustainable Smoke-Free Society” as she is the consultant of Nursing Student Club Creating a Smoke Free-Thai Society of Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science that won national award on sustainable tobacco control club in 2022.

Nursing Student Club Creating a Smoke Free-Thai Society of Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science has four main functions including training nursing students to be AU Ambassadors for smoking cessation; empowering students in primary and secondary school levels to work as Junior AU Ambassadors for smoking cessation; conducting research and innovation on tobacco control and disseminate to the society; and providing academic services to needed persons who would like to make their home, mosque, and workplace to be smoke-free areas.

The audiences in this conference were 400 professional nurses, nursing instructors, and nursing students from Thailand, Indonesia, and United States of America.
