The Nursing Student Committee of Assumption University of Thailand, (AU) organized the “BLNS Volunteer Spirit for Community Project” on April 22, 2023 at Tepharak Subdistrict Municipality, Samut Prakan under supervision of Dr. Onouma Thummapol and A. Napaswan Namboonsri from 08.30 to 14.00 hours.
This project aimed to health screening, health promotion, knowledge provision about noncommunicable diseases, and breast self-examination in elderly age ≥55 years. There were approximately 150 elderly people participating in this event.
The health care team included 24 nursing students studying NS 2427 Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Practicum under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriporn Poonruksa, A. Siraporn Silphipat, and A. Wirawan Prapawichar, 18 third year nursing students studying NS 3428 Gerontological Nursing Practicum under supervision of Dr. Onouma Thummapol, Dr. Supa Pudkasam, and A. Napaswan Namboonsri. Dr. Pimsiri Bhusiri, Dean, and Dr. Saw Yu Thanda, full-time lecturer of BLNS also joined this activity. Dr. Thitirat Nakphu, MD. and her team from Bueng Yitho Municipality, Pathum Thani, as well as the physician and the staff of Municipal officers of Tepharak Subdistrict Municipality, Samut Prakan also joined this special event. This project obtained the sponsors from Wacoal Company, and ABAC Association alumni.
