As part of the courses Seminar in Teacher Educational Ethics and Seminar in Educational Administration and Leadership, 19 graduate students from the Graduate School of Human Sciences at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) participated in a service-learning project at Assumption Technical School Nakhon Phanom on January 10–11, 2026. The project was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Poonpilas Asavisanu and Dr. Timothy Scott.
The project involved conducting an English and Values Camp for students at Assumption Technical School Nakhon Phanom, with the aim of promoting English language skills and positive values. The service-learning initiative was designed to provide graduate students with hands-on teaching experience, support the GHSH’s mission of academic service, and strengthen collaboration among institutions under the St. Gabriel Foundation.
Prior to the camp activities, Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka,f.s.g., Ph. D., President of AU, briefed the students on the history and origins of the school and offered words of encouragement and blessing. The graduate students were warmly welcomed by the school’s representatives, and the students demonstrated high motivation and engagement throughout the two-day camp. Overall, the project was a successful example of service learning, benefiting both the participating graduate students and the partner institution.
