Assumption University of Thailand (AU) welcomed its newest cohort of scholarship recipients during the 2015 Orientation for Scholarship Students, held on Thursday, May 7, at the Suvarnabhumi Campus. The event, which took place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Wiset Srisamut Room,The Cathedral of Learning Building, aimed to inspire and equip students with the knowledge and values needed to succeed academically and beyond.
The orientation began with a warm welcome and registration, followed by a short video presentation highlighting the achievements of AU’s UG 50 sports team. The energy in the room was high as student leaders introduced themselves and shared their experiences with fellow scholars.
Rev.Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph. D., President of AU, delivered an inspiring keynote that underscored the University’s commitment to nurturing excellence, gratitude, and service in its scholarship recipients. His remarks were followed by a practical session led by the University’s sports management team, which outlined the responsibilities, expectations, and support services available to student-athletes and scholarship holders.
A panel discussion then explored the diverse scholarship opportunities available at AU, including those focused on academic performance, athletic talent, and financial need.
The event concluded with a lively Q&A session led by a respected sports scientist, who was joined by current students. Their stories highlighted the challenges and rewards of balancing academics, leadership, and personal growth.
Among the featured speakers was, a distinguished student-athlete, whose story served as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of education and perseverance.
AU remains committed to fostering talent, supporting dreams, and preparing its students to be ethical, compassionate, and competent leaders in an ever-changing world.
