The Thomas Aquinas School of Law (TASL), Assumption University of Thailand (AU), hosted the ALSA AU Legal Debate Competition 2025 on September 15 and 22 at Seminar Room,De Montfort Hall, Hua Mak Campus. The event, organized by the Assumption University chapter of the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA), was designed to strengthen law students’ ability to think critically, speak persuasively, and analyze complex legal issues.


The competition was guided by Dr. Norarit Sudsanguan, Dean of TASL, and supported by A. Artit Pinpak, Advisor of ALSA AU, reflecting the Law School’s commitment to blending academic study with practical experience. Their leadership ensured that the debates were not only well-structured but also served as a meaningful training ground for future legal professionals.


The preliminary round took place on September 15, beginning with registration at 8:00 a.m. and four consecutive debates throughout the morning. Teams were judged on their reasoning, presentation, and adherence to parliamentary procedure, with the top performers advancing to the final round.


The finals will be held on September 22, culminating in the championship debate at 9:00 a.m. Following the judges’ feedback session, awards will be presented to the champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up teams. The program will conclude with an official closing by the Dean of TASL, a token of appreciation presented by the ALSA President, and a group photograph with faculty, judges, and the organizing team.
The competition highlights TASL’s unique role in preparing students for leadership in law, policy, and business.
