On April 8, 2025, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) welcomed a delegation from the University of Foggia, Italy, marking the start of a promising new partnership under the Erasmus+ Programme.
Hosted by AU’s Office of International Affairs (OIA), the visit brought together both institutions to explore joint academic opportunities and future collaboration. The visiting team included Mr. Giulio Esposito, Head of the International Department, along with Ms. Oleksandra Tverezovska and Ms. Olesia Benchak from the International Relations Department.
What is Erasmus+?
The Erasmus+ Programme is a flagship initiative of the European Union, designed to support education, training, youth, and sport across Europe and beyond. It offers funding and frameworks for student and staff mobility, strategic partnerships, and cross-border academic cooperation. The University of Foggia, a recognized holder of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, actively participates in this programme to build global partnerships and promote intercultural learning.

Following a warm welcome at Suvarnabhumi Campus, the guests enjoyed a guided tour of AU’s key landmarks and facilities—from the elegant Sala Chaturamuk Paijit and the CL Building to the University Library and Sports Center. A highlight of the morning was a visit to the Confucius Institute, where the Foggia team engaged in a hands-on Chinese calligraphy session and tried their hand at a traditional cultural mini-game, creating joyful moments and cross-cultural connections.
The afternoon continued at Hua Mak Campus, where the Italian delegation met with:
Dr. Sansanee Aranyanak Khlaewkhla, Director of the Office of Graduate Studies
Asst. Prof. Dr. Patchanee Yasurin, Dean of the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology
Dr. Roungdao Klinjapo, Chairperson of the Food Technology Department, Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology
Dr. Sirichai Preudhikulpradab, Director of the MBA.HTM and PhD.HTM Programs

The conversation centered on AU’s hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to learning, with a focus on graduate education, research, and potential avenues for student and faculty mobility.
AU extends its heartfelt thanks to our guests from the University of Foggia for their engaging visit and inspiring exchange. This meaningful first step sets the stage for deeper collaboration—and a shared commitment to global education, innovation, and friendship.
