On July 1, 2025, the Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly welcomed Prof. Dr. Glenn Young, Food Safety Professor Emeritus from the world-renowned University of California, Davis, USA. as a guest lecturer for the FT 3115 course: Food Safety and Microbiology Technology.
The special session, held at the Hua Mak Campus, brought advanced academic expertise to AU students and faculty, focusing on global best practices in microbiological risk management, foodborne pathogen detection, and system-wide safety innovation.
Prof. Young, a leading voice in food microbiology and food system resilience, shared case studies and research insights from his decades of work in the field. His interactive session encouraged students to think critically about how science, policy, and technology intersect to ensure safe and sustainable food systems.
This lecture is part of a long-standing academic collaboration between AU and UC Davis, which includes exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and shared academic goals in biotechnology, sustainability, and global health.
