The Office of International Affairs (OIA), Assumption University of Thailand (AU) was pleased to welcome Dr. Lingling Wei, Senior Lecturer in Business Law from Bournemouth University, UK, for a guest lecture with AU graduate law students on June 11, 2025.
Before the session, Dr. Wei met with Dr. Tanasarn Chongpanish, Assistant to the Dean for Administration, and Ajarn Artit Pinpak, Assistant to the Dean for Quality Assurance and Program Director of the International Bachelor of Laws Program.
Dr. Wei conducted a dynamic class from 13:30 to 15:30, delivering a lecture on “Regulating Emerging Technology and AI in the EU and UK.” Drawing from her extensive background in both legal practice and academia, she explored how governments are responding to the rapid development of AI and digital platforms. Her talk examined evolving legal frameworks and key challenges surrounding data protection, ethical governance, and tech regulation.


Dr. Wei has practiced law in the trade mark sector in China and the UK, and currently specializes in intellectual property issues—particularly trade mark law in China and Europe, as well as ambush marketing and brand protection in mega sporting events. She is also actively engaged in academic research and teaching in the UK.

Dr. Wei’s visit exemplified the university’s commitment to international collaboration and knowledge sharing, offering AU students a valuable comparative perspective on cutting-edge legal issues.
