The Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design (AR), Assumption University of Thailand (AU) brought fresh energy and forward-looking ideas to Thailand’s eastern region as it hosted the CEAxASA Workshop on March 4, 2026, at Suvarnabhumi Campus. Organized in collaboration with the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA) Burapha Regional Committee and the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), the workshop created a dynamic setting for conversations around design, place, and the future of public life.
The workshop focused on exploring creative public space design through site-based thinking, regional insight, and collaborative exchange. More than just a gathering, the event reflected a growing vision for public spaces that are imaginative, functional, and closely connected to the identity of the communities they serve.
The workshop was hosted under the leadership of Professor Dr. Sonthya Vanichvatana, Dean of the School of AR. Supporting the initiative were Assistant Professor Dr. Sanphawat Jatupatwarangkul and Ajarn Veera Leelapattanaputi, whose contributions helped shape a rich exchange of ideas grounded in research, design exploration, and real-world context.
With its blend of academic insight and professional collaboration, the workshop highlighted the School of AR’s role as a creative hub where ideas move beyond the studio and into the spaces people actually live in, gather in, and experience. It was a strong example of how design education can engage directly with contemporary challenges while helping imagine places that are more inspiring, inclusive, and alive.
In bringing together academic leadership, architectural expertise, and creative vision, the CEAxASA Workshop offered more than discussion. It offered a glimpse of how thoughtful design can help shape the character and future of the eastern region, one public space at a time.
