Assumption University of Thailand (AU) and China’s Xihua University officially launched the Third Engineering, Technology, and Cultural Exchange Program, marking another milestone in their strong academic partnership.
A 61-member delegation of AU faculty and students, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Narong Aphiratsakun, Dean of the Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology, arrived in Chengdu to kick off the program. Representing AU’s Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology, Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts, Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics, and Theodore Maria School of Arts, students immersed themselves in an innovative blend of academic enrichment and cultural discovery.
Hands-On Learning Meets Cultural Immersion
The exchange offered a dynamic program of academic seminars and cultural experiences designed to expand participants’ knowledge and perspectives.
Students will explore the beauty of Chinese heritage through paper-cutting, calligraphy, and traditional painting workshops, while specialized lectures on new energy vehicles, artificial intelligence, and humanities will deepen their academic expertise.
Cultural excursions to the Sichuan Science and Technology Museum and Tianfu Art Park offer a closer look at China’s scientific innovations and artistic achievements.
Strengthening Academic Bonds
On October 23, 2025, Dr. Gao Li, Assistant Vice President and Director Thai-Chinese International College led the AU China Office Headquarters team to visit Xihua University. The group extended warm greetings to AU faculty and students, reinforcing the close ties between the two institutions.
“This program exemplifies how engineering and culture can come together to build not just skills, but bridges between nations,” shared Asst. Prof. Dr. Narong Aphiratsakun.
Toward a Shared Future
The exchange program reflects the shared commitment of AU and Xihua University to fostering international collaboration, cross-cultural understanding, and student empowerment. This third phase continues to solidify academic and cultural ties between Thailand and China, creating pathways for joint learning, research, and innovation.
