The Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science (BLNS), Assumption University of Thailand (AU) , proudly joined the nation in celebrating Thailand’s National Nurses Day—a day that honors the enduring legacy of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, “The Royal Grandmother” whose compassion and service uplifted the nursing profession across the kingdom.
National Nurses Day is observed annually on October 21, commemorating the birthday of Princess Srinagarindra. Trained as a professional nurse, Her Royal Highness devoted her life to improving public health and ensuring access to medical services for people in remote areas of Thailand. Her tireless work laid the foundation for nursing as a highly respected and vital profession in Thai society.
On this meaningful occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Onouma Thummapol, Dean of BLNS, together with seven faculty members and five nursing students, represented the entire BLNS community in a floral offering ceremony at the Princess Srinagarindra Monument, Ministry of Public Health. This tribute expressed the School’s deepest gratitude for Her Royal Highness’s lifelong dedication and celebrated her remarkable contribution to advancing nursing in Thailand.
This annual commemoration serves as a reminder of the noble values of nursing—compassion, service, and dedication to humanity—which BLNS continues to uphold through its academic excellence and community service.
