Student of Assumption University won the 1st runner-up prize in packaging design awards “SCGP – Packaging Speak Out” held by SCG PACKAGING PUBLIC COMPANY LIMITED and the 1st runner-up prize in “Thaistar packaging awards 2021” on the topic of “Sustainability for next normal” in student category – Package (Prototype) hosted by Department of Industrial Promotion (DIPROM), Ministry of Industry.

AU Student Won the 1st Runner-Up Prize

Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President of Assumption University and
Dr. Marissa Chantamas, Dean of Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts together with Asst. Prof. Nattanan Naewmalee Chairperson of Department of Visual Communication Design, congratulated to Ms. Chonlathee Jaywaree, 4th year student from Department of Visual Communication Design, Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts for winning the 1st runner-up prize with 60,000 THB and certificate from SCGP – Packaging Speak Out contest held by SCG Packaging Public Company Limited. The winning design work was named “Banana Boaty – Everyone looks good in their own way”. Furthermore, the student also won the 1st runner-up prize with 25,000 THB and certificate from “Thaistar packaging awards 2021” on the topic of “Sustainability for next normal” hosted by Department of Industrial Promotion (DIPROM), Ministry of Industry. The winning design work was named "SomSom-สมส้ม”. Both awards had Asst. Prof. Nattanan Naewmalee as the project advisor.

Thaistar Packaging Award 2021 project is the package design contest that supports and develops package design industry forward to international standard. The competition is divided to many categories i.e. students, entrepreneurs, agencies and independent designers with new packaging prototype categories. More than 100 design works from universities nationwide participated in the competition and 23 best design works were selected to compete in the final round. Ultimately, “SomSom-สมส้ม” packaging design from Assumption University’s student won the 1st runner-up prize.
