Asst. Prof. Alberto Firrincieli, fulltime lecturer at Assumption University, Department of Music Entrepreneurship, will be conferred upon me the honor award of Knight of the Star of Italy (Cavaliere della Stella d’Italia) on 26 March 2022 by H.E. the Italian Ambassador in Thailand Lorenzo Galanti.

The award is a recognition of the high international relevance of professional activities in many Asian and European countries. Among them: the creation of the Bangkok International Piano Festival about 10 years ago, which hosted over 60 musicians from several countries for performances and masterclasses, and the creation of the Italian Thai Youth Orchestra. The orchestra was born in 2018 with the support and under the patronage of the Embassy of Italy in Thailand, in the occasion of the 150° anniversary of the signature of the first Treaty between the Reigns of Italy and Siam in 1868.

The award ceremony will follow the upcoming performance of the Italian Thai Youth Orchestra, conducted by the guest conductor A. Damrih Banawitayakit, one of the most acknowledged musicians in Thailand. Asst. Prof. Alberto Firrincieli will take part to the performance as both performer and composer alongside the Oboe player Maestro Arnaldo De Felice, as his composition Variation upon Folia Theme for Piano, Oboe and orchestra will be world premiered.

Asst. Prof. Alberto Firrincieli is also active as scholar and performer. He recently published a collection of 9 books including the complete works of the Italian composer Carlo Antonio Marino. Moreover, he released 3 music CDs and 7 academic articles, and he is the Artistic Director of IKA - International Keyboard Academy (www.ika.website).
