WRITER: THE AU LIBRARY
On July 21, 2025, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), in collaboration with SAIC Motor and MG, successfully hosted the “[AU. MG. SAIC] Innovation Workshop — New Energy Vehicle Campus Interactive Day” at the Suvarnabhumi Campus. The morning session brought together leading figures from academia, industry, and international organizations, creating a vital platform for exchange and cooperation in the development of talent and industry-education integration in Thailand’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sector.
During the event, Dr. Huarunqi, Dean of the SAIC Automotive Institute, delivered a keynote lecture along with MG Thailand representatives, offering insights into the current landscape and prospects of Thailand’s NEV market.


Asst. Porf. Dr. Kitti Phothikitti, Vice President for Educational Innovation and Graduate Studies, AU, extended a warm welcome to guests from around the world. In his remarks, he emphasized that the development of new energy vehicles not only represents the forefront of technological innovation but also presents new opportunities and responsibilities for China-Thailand cooperation in education and talent development.


A highlight of the event was the signing of several key partnership agreements. Assumption University of Thailand signed an international education cooperation agreement with Shanghai Nanhu Vocational and Technical College. Additionally, AU entered into collaborative agreements with NS Aviation Academy and Hanyuan Aviation, deepening its engagement in international vocational education and establishing joint training programs for high-level technical talent.


In recognition of outstanding students in the AU-Xihua University joint “3+1” dual-degree program, a special scholarship award ceremony was held.

NEV exhibition and test drive
The “[AU. MG. SAIC] Innovation Workshop — New Energy Vehicle Campus Interactive Day” served as a solid platform for win-win cooperation between Chinese and Thai Universities and enterprises. It underscored the crucial role of higher education in advancing sustainable, green development across borders.
