On Friday, August 8, 2025, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly celebrated the birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, with solemn and respectful ceremonies held at both Suvarnabhumi and Hua Mak Campuses.

Held in advance of the national holiday on 12 August, the commemorative ceremonies were organized by the Office of Thai Art and Culture, Student Affairs, and brought together students, faculty, and staff to honor Her Majesty’s lifelong devotion to the Thai people.

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit is cherished as the “Mother of the Nation,” revered for her tireless humanitarian work, unwavering support for rural communities, and remarkable leadership as President of the Thai Red Cross Society. She has also played a pivotal role in reviving and preserving Thailand’s cultural arts, notably traditional weaving and the classical Khon performance. Her Support Foundation has empowered countless local artisans, transforming traditional craftsmanship into sustainable livelihoods and sources of national pride.

At the Suvarnabhumi Campus, the morning ceremony began at 1.30 p.m. in the Queen Room, CL Building. The President of the University led the proceedings, which included the floral tribute, the singing of the Royal Anthem, and a bilingual recital of Felicitous Poems. The event concluded with all participants singing “Sadudee Phra Mae Thai Song”—a touching tribute to The Queen Mother’s grace and service.

Later that day, a similar ceremony was held at Hua Mak Campus at 4:05 p.m. in the A Building lobby, where the AU community once again came together in unity and respect.

Participants were encouraged to wear blue, symbolizing loyalty and admiration for Her Majesty.

Through these annual tributes, AU reaffirms its dedication to Thai cultural heritage and deep respect for the enduring legacy of The Queen Mother, whose life’s work continues to inspire generations.
