ABAC Architecture +Design “Echo Of Memory ” Art and Design Exhibition at Bangkok Design Week 2026

Rather than positioning design as an isolated creative act, the project is grounded in real industry partnerships and community engagement. Under the leadership of Ms. On La-or Homsettee, Project Director, and Asst. Prof. Chutarat Laomanacharoen, Furniture Design Instructor, students worked directly with furniture manufacturers to reinterpret the historic Si Phraya House through contemporary furniture pieces and spatial installations.

Through hands-on material exploration, craftsmanship, cultural storytelling of the local community, the exhibition transforms memory into an active design process. It becomes a platform where industry expertise meets emerging designers, and where heritage architecture serves as a catalyst for community engagement and sustainable creative development.

The initiative is further supported by Asst. Prof. Dr. Uree Cheasakul, Vice President for Academic Affairs at AU; Prof. Dr. Sonthya Vanichvatana, Dean of Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design; Asst. Prof. Dr. Pannawit Sanitnarathorn, Dean of Louis Nobiron School of Music, and Ms. Peeraanong Wongtanakornchai, event lighting designer. Their support reflects a shared institutional vision — demonstrating how academic learning, industry collaboration, and community participation can intersect to generate not only meaningful design outcomes, but enduring cultural value and strengthened social connections.
