In the golden autumn of Chengdu, on November 7, 2025, Sichuan University of Media and Communications (SUMC) warmly welcomed a distinguished delegation from Assumption University of Thailand (AU). The meeting brought together leaders and educators from both institutions in a spirit of sincerity and shared academic purpose, envisioning new pathways for cross-border collaboration in media, communication, and the arts.

The AU delegation represented multiple academic units, including the AU Thai-Chinese International College, Confucius Institute, Graduate School of Fine Arts and Design, School of Communication Arts, and AU’s China Headquarters Office. Their collective presence underscored AU’s strategic commitment to strengthening international partnerships in education, research, and creative innovation.

Exploring New Frontiers in Media Education

SUMC Chairwoman Ms. Zhang Shuyu led the university’s faculty in extending a gracious welcome. Both sides engaged in substantive discussions covering joint research initiatives, innovative talent development, and the creation of academic platforms bridging industry and education. The dialogue led to several points of consensus aimed at promoting innovation in talent cultivation and the integration of creative industries into higher education.

The AU representatives commended SUMC’s forward-thinking approach, praising its advanced learning infrastructure, creative curriculum design, and commitment to student-centered education.
