A Journey of Faith and Renewal: AU Catholic Staff Mark Jubilee Year 2025

Catholic staff of Assumption University of Thailand (AU)  strengthened faith through pilgrimage, prayer, and service during Advent.

Catholic staff of Assumption University of Thailand, led by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., took part in a significant spiritual renewal pilgrimage in celebration of the Jubilee Year 2025 and the Advent season, held from 10–11 December 2025.

The two-day program brought together pilgrimage, prayer, and charitable outreach, reflecting the Catholic identity and mission of AU. It offered participants a meaningful opportunity to renew their spiritual lives while reconnecting with the roots of the Catholic Church in Thailand.

As part of the outreach activities, the group visited Bethany Home for the Elderly in Ban Pong, Ratchaburi, operated by the Camillian Sisters of Thailand. Donations and essential supplies were presented to support the Sisters’ long-standing mission of caring for and serving elderly residents with compassion and dignity.

The pilgrimage continued with Holy Mass and the reception of a plenary indulgence in accordance with Church teaching at the Sacred Heart House. The Mass was presided over by Fr. John Bosco Chitchanon Saengpradab, Parish Priest of Wat Mae Phra Nitchanukroh, who also shared the historical and spiritual significance of Bang Nok Khwaek Minor Seminary, widely recognized as a cradle of priestly vocations in Thailand.

Participants also visited and prayed at several important Catholic landmarks within the Ratchaburi and Bangkok ecclesiastical jurisdictions, including St. Anthony Church, Sacred Heart Church, Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, and the Carmelite Monastery of St. Teresa of Jesus.

A key spiritual highlight of the journey was the visit to the Blessed Nicholas Bunkerd Kitbamrung Shrine in Sampran, Nakhon Pathom. Holy Mass was presided over by Monsignor Andrew Vissanu Thanya-anan, the Deputy Secretary General of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand (CBCT). Participants received blessings and anointing, followed by a detailed reflection on the lives and witness of the Blessed martyrs of Thailand.

This spiritual renewal pilgrimage marked an important moment for Catholic personnel of AU to strengthen their faith, deepen their spiritual commitment, and prepare their hearts for the Jubilee Year and the coming of Christ during the Advent season.
