MSME students turned wellness challenges into human-centered business ideas using design thinking and creativity.
The Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME) at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) organized a three-day Mockup Showcase from December 16–18, 2025, presenting student ideas and prototypes developed under the BBA1111 Business Essentials course.
Centered on the theme “Wellness Designer,” the showcase encouraged first-year students to reflect on physical and mental health and to explore the deeper meaning of living well. As stress, lifestyle-related diseases, and mental health challenges become increasingly prevalent, students were challenged to design practical, human-centered solutions that promote holistic well-being and balance in everyday life.
The exhibition highlighted students’ application of the Design Thinking process, moving systematically through Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test, and culminating in viable business concepts developed using the Business Model Canvas (BMC). Projects took the form of products, services, systems, and experiences, all designed to enhance physical, mental, and social well-being in meaningful and accessible ways.
By engaging with real-life experiences and user needs, students gained deeper insight into what people truly need to feel healthy, supported, and fulfilled. Beyond creativity, the initiative aimed to nurture a new generation of changemakers—students empowered to promote happier and healthier lifestyles for individuals and communities, both on campus and beyond.
Wellness, it turns out, is even better with a prototype and a business plan.
