Assumption University of Thailand (AU) celebrated Loy Krathong 2025 in radiant style under the theme “The Glory of Ayutthaya”, blending Thai cultural elegance with heartfelt remembrance. The celebration took place on November 4, 2025, in front of the Thai Pavilion at the Suvarnabhumi Campus, where students, faculty, and guests gathered in harmony to honor one of Thailand’s most cherished traditions.
Honoring Heritage and Her Majesty
The evening commenced with opening remarks by the Master of Ceremonies, followed by a solemn Moment of Silence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, whose grace and lifelong devotion to the Thai people continue to inspire the nation.
Afterward, Ms. Jitichayapa Muangklang, Project Director, delivered her report, emphasizing the importance of sustaining cultural values through unity and creativity within the AU community.
Words of Inspiration and Cultural Grace
Rev. Bro. Monthol Prathumarach, f.s.g., Ph.D., Vice President for Special Affairs, delivered the Opening Speech, reminding the audience of Loy Krathong’s enduring message—to let go of life’s burdens and move forward with renewed hope and gratitude.
The evening unfolded beautifully with a Thai Classical Dance and Music performance, enchanting the audience with the rhythm and grace of traditional Thai artistry.
Elegance, Reflection, and Joy
Students then took the stage for a vibrant Fashion Show, reinterpreting the regal elegance of Ayutthaya through creative and contemporary designs. The atmosphere sparkled with pride and reverence as the audience celebrated Thailand’s timeless cultural beauty.
The celebration continued with a group photo session and the serene VIP Krathong Floating Ceremony, symbolizing renewal, peace, and gratitude beneath the moonlit sky. The night concluded with an outdoor movie screening, wrapping up the festivities in relaxed camaraderie.
