Assumption University of Thailand (AU) successfully hosted the Thailand Professional Standards Framework (PSF) Workshop from October 29–30, 2025, at the Hua Mak Campus.
Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the training invited experts in the Thailand PSF to guide faculty members from various schools in preparing their Reflective Account of Practice (RAP). The objective of the workshop was to support AU instructors in their continuous professional development, enhance alignment with Thailand’s Higher Education Qualifications Framework (HEdQF), and enable participants to meet the competencies required for PSF certification.
Day 1: Building Understanding and Alignment
The first day provided an overview of the PSF structure and its connection to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Constructive Alignment. Participants learned how to connect learning outcomes, teaching activities, and assessment methods in a cohesive framework.
Morning sessions emphasized aligning course design with OBE principles, while the afternoon sessions focused on exploring exemplary RAP submissions and identifying evidence of effective teaching practice. Group discussions encouraged faculty to reflect on their classroom innovations, student engagement strategies, and assessment techniques.
Day 2: Reflection, Application, and Review
The second day was designed as a writing and mentoring session. Participants drafted their Reflective Accounts, received personalized feedback, and participated in appreciative dialogue sessions to refine their narratives. Through these exercises, faculty members were able to articulate how their teaching practices align with PSF descriptors and professional standards.
By the end of the program, most participants had developed near-complete RAP drafts ready for peer review and submission, marking a major milestone in AU’s efforts to raise teaching standards and foster a culture of reflective learning.
Driving Academic Excellence
The Thailand PSF initiative aims to uplift the professional quality of teaching across Thai universities by promoting reflective, evidence-based practice. Through this workshop, AU reaffirmed its leadership in academic development and its commitment to equipping faculty with the skills needed to achieve excellence in teaching and learning.
