Assumption University of Thailand (AU) came alive on September 24, 2025, with a celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, held at AU Plaza, Suvarnabhumi Campus. The event marked not only one of the most cherished cultural festivals in Chinese tradition but also commemorated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, highlighting deepening bonds of friendship and cooperation.

The celebration opened with a warm address by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of AU, who emphasized AU’s commitment to cultural understanding and global engagement.
Students showcased their talents through lively performances, followed by a graceful tea art demonstration that reflected centuries-old Chinese traditions. A highlight of the program was the mooncake-making demonstration, where participants learned firsthand the art of preparing this iconic delicacy, a symbol of reunion and harmony.

After a group photo session, attendees explored hands-on cultural activity stations, including mooncake making, tea art, fragrant sachet crafting, and the playful Jade Rabbit Challenge. These interactive sessions offered participants an opportunity to experience authentic Chinese traditions, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and strengthening ties within the AU community and beyond.

The Mid-Autumn Festival at AU not only showcased the richness of Chinese culture but also served as a meaningful platform for cultural exchange. By honoring the 50 years of friendship between China and Thailand, the event highlighted AU’s role as a bridge for people-to-people connections, nurturing understanding, harmony, and enduring friendships.
