In loving memory of Bro. Prasit Chaiphuak, f.s.g., Ph.D., Assumption University of Thailand (AU) mourns the loss—and celebrates the extraordinary life—of a man whose silent strength, unwavering humility, and quiet leadership shaped generations.
Bro. Prasit lived a profoundly simple and faithful life, radiating peace and humility in every step. His steady witness to God’s primacy reflected the heart of religious consecration, never seeking acclaim but always present as a living Gospel—through every silent act of love.
He chose to serve in silence. In his gentle, generous spirit, he became a sign of God’s Kingdom in our midst. As a true formator of hearts, he dedicated himself completely to community life, quietly supporting others and embodying fraternity. He was a leader not by command but by character—his actions always preceding his words.
He saw the potential in everyone. With unshakable faith, he nurtured the hearts and vocations of the young. He guided with gentleness, mentored with patience, and inspired without ever raising his voice. His care built a family of hearts around him.
Bro. Prasit found joy and reflection in nature. His garden—tended with quiet devotion—became a sanctuary of God’s presence. Feeding fish, clearing ponds, and trimming plants were acts of faith in motion, of humility in action. His holiness was hidden in the ordinary.
He rarely spoke, but his life spoke volumes. His calm and silent presence brought peace to those around him. His way of listening—attentive, patient, and loving—became the soul of his wisdom. In his final years, as his silence deepened, his surrender and faith grew louder still.
He welcomed all with openness and mercy. Every heart was received with dignity. Every fault met with understanding. “Wisdom is gentle and peaceful,” he lived. “It listens, it waits, and it draws by love.”
Lifelong learning was not a goal, but a way of being. At 65, Bro. Prasit earned a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from DePaul University in the United States. With a clear vision, he pursued doctoral studies in Organizational Development—not for ambition, but to strengthen the Congregation. He chose learning over comfort. Where others paused, he pressed on—with humility and purpose.
Formation, for him, was not mere instruction. It was a way of life—lived side by side with his students. He formed hearts by being present. He shaped vocations with grace, and his formation endures in the lives of all he touched.
Even through illness, Bro. Prasit was a witness of hope. His suffering became a silent prayer. His surrender was serene, and his final return to the Lord was peaceful—leaving behind a legacy of grace, humility, and faithful presence.
He was the embodiment of the Montfortian spirit: humility, charity, and zeal. Through a life fully given in service, he built communities rooted in trust, inspired by love, and grounded in belonging.
Assumption University remembers Bro. Prasit not only as a Brother of Saint Gabriel, but as a Brotherof Hope.
His memory blesses us.
His presence remains.
His legacy endures.
