The general committee meeting (1/2021) of the Distance Learning Foundation under the Royal Patronage (DLTV) via Video conference conducted on February 18, 2021 was participated by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, AU President Rector Magnificus, Assumption University of Thailand.
Assumption University of Thailand has been the foundation' staunch supporter significantly contributing scholarship & financial supports to its apired success and accomplishments. The university is under the umbrella and management of the St. Gabriel Foundation of Thailand.
Driven by its noble mission and vision of providing educational support or assistance to underprivileged students, the foundation was originally founded by St. Louise Marie Grignion de Montfort in 1711. And the first group of the St. Gabriel Brothers established the foundation in Thailand in 1901 to carry on its major objectives in initiating Western style educational institutions in the country.
Furthermore, Assumption University has been practically and continually abiding by St. Louise Marie Grignion de Montfort's ultimate purpose.
Accordingly, in 1998, Rev. Bro. Dr. Prathip Martin Komolmas, AU President Emeritus, Assumption University of Thailand donated the scholarship funds to H. M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the occasion of his 6th cycle birthday. The donated proceeds went towards His Majesty's charitable foundations under the Royal Patronage for further distribution to children of civil servants or any students in financial needs from 1999 onwards.
Presently, 33 students from Wang Klai Kang Won Schools have been granted the AU scholarship funds with 9 scholarships annually extended for student recipients' enrollments in the University's various following schools & programs:
- Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology
- Information Technology Department
- Computer Science Department
- Telecommunication Science Department
- Applied Statistics Department - Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology
- Food Technology Department
- Agro-Industry Department - Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science
- Theodore Maria School of Arts
- Business English Department
- Business French Department
- Business Japanese Department
- Business Chinese Department - School of Risk Management and Industrial Services
- Property and Casualty Insurance Department
- Life Assurance Department
- General Lines Insurance Department
- Marine and Aviation Insurance Department
- Real Estate Department
- Industrial Management Department
- Actuarial Science Department
The AU Scholarship Students are entitled to the following benefits:
- Total amount of tuition fees
- Educational fees
- Variety of regular or related fees
- Accommodation Fees of University dormitory.
