(Bangkok, Thailand) – Assumption University is proud to announce that Dr. Apichart Intravisit, Program Chair of MBA Creative Communication and Music Business for the Graduate School of Business & Advanced Technology Management (GS-BATM), has been honored with the prestigious Master in Thai Language Communication Award 2566 (2023). The award was presented by Mr. Ittiphol Khunpluem, Minister of Culture, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government, during the National Thai Language Day celebration on July 29, 2023.

Established in 1999, this esteemed award acknowledges leading figures in academia, public life, and community leadership who have demonstrated excellence in the use of the Thai language. The recipients are celebrated for their meticulous attention to Thai grammar, enunciation, and pronunciation, setting a fine example for the Thai community.

Dr. Apichart was chosen to be one of the 11 distinguished recipients of this award and was also invited to deliver a speech at the event's press conference. His inspiring message underscored the importance of the Thai language's ability to create new Thai terminology without borrowing or adapting foreign words. He eloquently emphasized the role of the Thai language as an "embellishment to our personality, an armament to our communication strategy, and a nourishment to our cultural heritage."

A respected figure in the fields of music and communication, Dr. Apichart has served as an emcee for classical music concerts, particularly with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra since 1993. His long association with Assumption University, beginning in 2005, has included valuable contributions such as speech and message writings for the royal families from AU.

In addition to this recent accolade, Dr. Apichart has been honored with the Knight St. Gregory the Great by the Holy See in 2010, and the Ministry of Culture Eminent Cultural Contributor Award, Watana Khunathorn, in 2020.

We at Assumption University celebrate Dr. Apichart’s achievements and contributions to the Thai language and culture and are honored to have him as a part of our academic community.
