Objective

  • To promote the Business Economics Department especially the Quantitative Track

Eligibility Criteria

  • Any of the following
    • M6 certificate
    • High School (grade 12) diploma
    • One-year enrolment in a government accredited university or college
    • or other equivalent document
  • GPA of 3.0 in math
  • GPA of 3.0 in English or any of the following
    • Being a native English speaker
    • Having received more than 2 years of English education in an English-speaking country
    • Having an IELTS score of 5.0
    • Having TOEFL paper base score of 500, TOEFL computer based score of 173 or TOEFL iBT score of 60
  • Meet other scholarship criteria set by Assumption University such as enrolled as a full time student by the coming academic year.

Scholarship Examination

  • Two-part multiple-choice exam
  • Part 1: Math and Analytical Skills
    • 45 questions
    • 1 hour
  • Part 2: Reading Comprehension
    • 30 questions
    • 1 hour

Decision Criteria

  • 30-minute interview in English by a panel of instructors
  • The number of first-round interviewees is equal to the number of scholarships being offered with an equal number of individuals on a wait-list.
  • Interviewees are selected based on their overall score ranking (weight: 60% for part 1 and 40% for part 2)
  • Must bring proof of eligibility on the interview day

Requirement to maintain the scholarship

  • Same as AU Scholarship such as number of hours working for the university
  • Minimum of 15-credit enrolment in each regular semester
  • GPA of 3.0 overall each semester
  • GPA of 3.0 for all ECO courses and being in the Quantitative Track (not Managerial)
  • The funding will be terminated after 8 regular semesters regardless of whether the student has graduated or not.
