AU’s Participation in Online Seminar on AI and Automation in a Post – COVID Era

The AU delegated participants took part in an online seminar on AI and Automation in a Post – COVID World organized by an expert group of organizers of the InfoComm Southeast Asia GoVIRTUAL 2021 and the IFSEA2021 Summit. Jointly coordinated by the Expo Inter Ltd., the AudioVisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXATM) and the InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd., the seminar provided an excellent online platform for relevant activities and the exhibition of future technological goods.

AU Representatives Make Merit Commemorating the Buddhist Lent

 In keeping with the traditions of the Buddhist Lent occasion and to encourage faculty and international students appreciate the Thai cultural values & significance of Buddhist practices, Office of Thai Arts and Culture, Student Affairs, performed the religious activities leading a group of faculty members, staff and students in merit-making ceremony. Directed by Ms. Sasitorn Tassanaiyana, the AU group presented the carved candle and other necessities to the Sukhun Tawat Temple, Bangbo District, on July 1, 2020.

MSME Students Won the 2020 Thailand MICE Youth Challenge Competition

Students from the MSME Business School at Assumption University returned victorious from the 2020 Thailand MICE Youth Challenge competition, held at the Hyatt Regency, Bangkok. The Assumption University team created the Illuminate Music Festival, a hybrid MICE event (workshop + expo) (concert + live stream) to compete against other team’s innovative ideas for MICE events. Each team needed to prepare a detailed business plan and a five-minute sales presentation. The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management HTM team is named Illuminate: Nattapat Ruckworakijkul (Copter), Sirapob Jirngsaard (Mix), Atibordee Noichan (Tib) and Donlaya Kluaphid (Benz).

Ms. Kallaya Chamchuen, a Business Chinese Major, Theodore Maria School of Arts, presented with 2nd Runner up Chinese Proficiency Award of 19th “Chinese Bridge” Competition!

Digital Marketing Workshop by ISL, VMS for AU personnel towards Digital Era

The second series of the practical & hand-on Digital Marketing Workshop (Marketing 4.0) was jointly organized by the AU Library and Intelligent System Laboratory, Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology on July 17, 2020 at Hua Mak Campus for AU staff from various departments. The valuable digital marketing workshop featured professional speakers which included A. Teerawut Techahaicerdchoo, Consultant Specialist, Infosearch, who enlightened the audience on the topic of “Marketing 4.0 Simplified” and A. Pawut Satisuksanoh, Lecturer, Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology, who gave a lecture on “Content Workshop for Social Media.” Such highly practical digital marketing workshop was facilitated by A. Tapanan Yeophantong, Director & Lecturer, Intelligent Systems Research Laboratory, Vincent Mary School of Science and Technology.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Poonsri Vate-U-Lan Conducts Research on COVID-19

Asst. Prof. Dr. Poonsri Vate-U-Lan has conducted a study and found that the challenges caused by the COVID-19 era have forced opportunities for innovation, not only creating vaccine formulations but also how to take the best care of people through active mental immunization. She elaborates more on the consequence in this short video. This findings emphasis that together people can unlock the pathway from imagination to implementation.

AU students showed respect & gratitude to teachers during Wai Kru Ritual

AU Students representing various schools presented elegantly arranged flowers to management members as a gesture of displaying respect, reverence and deep gratitude to lecturers during the ceremonial Wai Kru occasion. Participated by administrators, lecturers, staff and student representatives, the ritual signifying a brilliant way to start the new academic year and moreover formalizing student–teacher relationship, was organized by the Assumption University Student Organization (AUSO) on July 23, 2020 at Suvarnabhumi Campus.

H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s Birthday, which falls on July 28, 2020, was joyfully celebrated on July 24, 2020 among the AU community members: management team, administrators, faculty members, staff and students. Organized by The Office of the Thai Art and Culture, Student Affairs, and officiated by Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghira, President-Rector Magnificus, the auspicious occasion took place at both Campuses.
